Kara White is a graduate of Southern Oregon University, where she received her BFA in Theatre Arts, with an acting emphasis. She has been an Austin resident for over seven years and is an original co-founder of Punchkin Repertory Theatre. She has essentially served as the company’s manager since the company was formed in 2011. She has worked for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Santa Clarita Repertory Theatre, and New Calais Theatre. She also worked at Universal Studios Hollywood, in both the costume and entertainment departments. She has acted in several plays in Austin, including “The Maternal Instincts Project”, a collaborative ensemble piece that included several guest artists. She wrote two original pieces for this project. She has also acted in and/or stage managed several of Punchkin’s productions and has spent the last five years creating relationships and collaborations with Austin artists.
